Princess Leia returns to the screens in Star Wars. Or maybe not…
“We will always scan the main actors of the film. We don´t know if we are going to need them. We don´t intentionally scan them as a file process. It's a reference for later".
The intrigue for Star Wars fans does not only grow with the new arrival of Star Wars 9 and the spinoff of "Han Solo, a Star Wars story" they also sweat because of the rumors about the return to the screen of the Princess Leia, in both movies, interpreted by the recently deceased Carrie Fisher.
A confession of the producers of the saga has caused these suspicions that would confirm, as usual in Lucasfilm, once again a technological skill of special effects based on the scan of the actors who now seem to adopt by default, "just in case". This is how Ben Morris, supervisor of visual effects, explains in an interview done by Inverse:
“We will always scan the main actors of the film. We don´t know if we are going to need them. We don´t intentionally scan them as a file process. It's a reference for later".
This technology was already evident in Rogue One, in 2016, with the rejuvenated versions of Princess Leia and Wilhuff Tarkin.
Anyway, until May the 25th at the premiere of "Han Solo, a Star Wars story" or the December the 20th 2019, premiere of Star Wars 9, we can´t confirm or deny these rumors. What tension!
